The fastest growing roles in Australia come from the education, travel and hospitality sectors, with titles such as English teacher, waiter and travel specialist topping the jobs. LinkedIn job list for 2025 is on the rise.
“In 2024“We saw a strong focus on technology and engineering roles, with positions such as cybersecurity analyst, platform engineer and integration engineer leading the way (in Australia),” LinkedIn careers expert Cayla Dengate told CNBC Make It.
While these remain crucial sectors, “the shift towards hospitality, travel and education in 2025 reflects broader economic and social trends,” Dengate said. “This includes recovery from the pandemic and the increasing importance of soft skills and continuous learning.”
In particular, “English teacher” was ranked as the fastest growing position in Australia. This was driven by several factors, such as the growing need for English language proficiency as the country’s international student population grows, Dengate said.
The resurgence seen in these sectors may present an opportunity for job seekers who wish to enter or re-enter the workforce, he added.
