In the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, Icici Bank, the second largest private sector after HDFC Bank, revealed a net gain of RS 11,792 million rupees. This marked an increase of 15% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, when the net gain was 10,272 million rupees.
In addition, the lender reported a net income of interest of RS 20,370.6 million rupees, reflecting a 9.1% increase in 18,678 million rupees in the previous year.
NPA
The NPA ratio (bad loans) remained stable at 0.42% in the last quarter, while the supply coverage ratio for unrealized loans was 78.2% from the end of December.
In the Q3 of the FY25, the NPA gross ratio showed a slight improvement to 1.96% of 1.97% in Q2. The gross additions NPA totaled RS 6,085 million rupees in the third quarter, compared to RS 5,916 million rupees in Q1 and RS 5,073 million rupees in Q2 of FY25.
Icici Bank said that he generally experiences NPA’s higher additions from Kisan’s credit card portfolio in the first and third quarter of the fiscal year.
During the quarter, the bank ruled out RS 2,011 million rupees in gross NPA.
Deposits
In the third quarter, Icici Bank saw an increase of 14.1% year after year and a sequential increase of 1.5% in the end of the total period, reaching RS 15,20,309 million rupees. The average deposits also showed growth, with an increase of 13.7% year after year and a sequential increase of 2.1% to RS 14,58,489 million rupees for the quarter.
Specifically, the average deposits of the current account increased by 13.1% year after year and 4.5% sequentially, while the average deposits of savings accounts increased by 12.3% year after year and 1.3% sequentially. The average current account ratio and the savings account (house) stood at 39% during the third quarter.
Credit growth
Net national advances experienced an interannual growth of 15.1% and a sequential growth of 3.2% during quarter. The retail loan portfolio saw a year -on -year growth of 10.5% and a sequential growth of 1.4%, which represents 52.4% of the total loan portfolio.
On the other hand, the commercial banking portfolio witnessed an interannual growth of 31.9% and a sequential growth of 6.4%.
