A fire broke out of the Etihad stadium tonight before the crunch of the Crunch Champions League of Manchester City with Club Brugge.
The fire occurred in a temporary merchandise stand, not far from where fans met to meet the city players when they arrived.
There was also an event that saw some of the new signings of the club, which were not eligible to play tonight, meet the followers, but that was filed when local firefighters fought to address the fire.

A spokesman for the Fire Service and Rescue of Greater Manchester (GMFRS) told the BBC: “Just before 6 pm tonight (Wednesday, January 29), two Blackley and Philips Park Fire Station were called fire trucks to reports of a fire in the building that implied a construction. The soccer field parking on Rowsley Street, Manchester.
“The teams quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters who use breathing devices used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, are currently damping the critical points and making the area safe.
“Firefighters have attended for about thirty minutes and are still on the scene.”
It was not suggested that the beginning be delayed with the UEFA interested in all the games began simultaneously to prevent the teams from knowing what they had to do in the final stages.
Manchester City FC can confirm that there has been a fire in one of the external merchandise kiosks, located near the entrance to the Colin Bell West stand.

A city statement said: “Manchester City FC can confirm that there has been a fire in one of the external merchandise kiosks, located near the entrance to the post of Colin Bell West. Emergency services are present at the scene and the fire has now extinguished. The safety of all those attending tonight is our top priority, and as such, all the events planned for receiving the West Stand have been canceled, including the welcome event for new players and the arrival of the first team.
“All tickets are open, and fans can move around the Etihad stadium as usual. Thanks for your cooperation.
“We can confirm that tonight’s game will begin at 8pm as originally planned. We hope to welcome everyone to the Etihad stadium for tonight’s game. “
