Arsenal ‘lacks something’ to win trophies, says manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners finished second behind Manchester City in each of the last two seasons of the Premier League and Trail Liverpool for six points with 15 remaining games this time.
They are third in the champions League table and are well located to directly qualify the last 16, but Arteta says that his team needs more to compete for important trophies.
He said The world: “In this club, aspiring to win the great titles is not negotiable.
“With the stability that the team shows in terms of performance, in normal circumstances we would have a great title in our hands, but the reality is that we have not done it.

“So, we lack something and that is where we have to find that margin to be able to do what we all want, which is to take another step and win the great titles.”
Arteta has been in charge for five years and directed the Gunners to a victory in the FA Cup in 2020.
This season, his team has fought to convert opportunities and with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesús injured a new striker has been the best in the desire list of all Arsenal fans this month.
But Arteta said: “That all my players are healthy is the only thing in my desire list.
“The club has given me the opportunity to see if it would help us to have some reinforcements and I think that, in each window, the team has to try to improve, evolve and the first thing we do is look internally.
“Everything I can do better is a matter of numbers. We start the season with a very small number of players and, unfortunately, we have had many injuries, some very important too, and if we can give oxygen to the team, perfect, and if not, as now, we will. go with what we have. “
Arsenal faces Girona on Wednesday before receiving Manchester City on Sunday.
