Alphonso Davies signs the new Bayern Munich contract in the midst of interest of Real Madrid

Alphonso Davies has committed his future to Bayern Munich, signing a new contract with the Bundesliga champions.

After the agreement was announced on Tuesday, the prolonged interest of Real Madrid in the Canadian star pretended.

The new agreement will keep Davies at the Allianz Arena until the end of the 2029-30 season, marking what could be an 11-year mandate with the club if you see the full contract.

Davies’s decision to stay gives Real Madrid, who was interested in ensuring the services of the 24 -year -old left side.

Despite Madrid’s interest, Bayern was determined to retain Davies, offering him an improved contract to ensure his stay in Munich.

“Alphonso Davies has become one of the best players in the world in his position at Bayern and has attracted a lot of interest,” said Bayern sports director Christoph Freund.

“The fact that he wants to continue here with us shows Bayern’s state in international football and that Alphonso has found his sports home in Munich.”

This season, Davies has appeared in 16 Bundesliga games under coach Vincent Kompany, finding the network once while helping Bayern maintain his place at the top of the table.

Davies originally joined the Bayern of Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019 and since then has become one of the main players on the left side of the world.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, continues to seek reinforcements on the left side due to the uncertainties surrounding Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcรญa.

Spanish giants have a story of ensuring the best talents in free transfers, with recent examples that include Kylian Mbappe in 2024, Antonio Rudiger in 2022 and David Alaba de Bayern in 2021.
